          This is a verified amended petition filed with this Court for the cancellation/correction of entry in the birth record/certificate of Mark Jeev Uba Gurung in the Office of the Local Civil Registrar of Bacarra, Ilocos Norte on the entry of the date of marriage of his parents from January 8, 2006 to none or n/a or no entry; and the place of marriage of parents from Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte to none or n/a or no entry filed by herein petitioner through counsel.
          Finding the petition to be sufficient in form and substance, notice is hereby given that this petition is set for hearing on October 27, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. before the Regional Trial Court, Branch 12, Laoag City, at which time, date and place, any interested person who is adversely affected may appear and show cause why said petition should not be granted.
          Let this Order be published once a week for three (3) consecutive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Laoag and the Province of Ilocos Norte at the expense of the petitioner, the last date of publication being at least one week prior to the date of the scheduled hearing.
          Let copies of this Order and the petition be furnished the Local Civil Registrar of Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, the Provincial Prosecutor of Laoag City, the Civil Registrar General, Manila, National Statistics Office (Philippine Statistics Authority), Manila, the Solicitor General, Manila and all other persons who have or claim to have any interest that would be affected thereby.

PIDS expert says income tax cuts justified; warns gov’t of revenue loss

Proposals to amend the personal income tax schedule appear to be well-justified. However, these proposals should include measures that will allow government to recover the revenue loss from lower income taxes. Dr. Rosario Manasan, senior research fellow of state think-tank Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS), said at a seminar sponsored by the Philippine Senate, that government should look for new revenue measures to compensate for the projected revenue loss that will arise as a result of the implementation of any of the various proposals to restructure the personal income tax. Currently, there are several income tax reform proposals pending in both houses of Congress. All of them, according to Dr. Manasan, have the same objective of addressing the phenomenon of bracket creep, which results from “non-indexation to inflation of personal income tax brackets”. Lozano of Adams, Ilocos Norte receive a resolution of commendation, a certificate of college scholarship grant to their family members and a P20,000 cash incentive each from the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte represented by Governor Imee R. Marcos and Vice Governor Angelo M. Barba in recognition of their bravery and heroic acts in the Mamasapano clash in Maguindanao on January 25.
