MMSU inks MOU with Thai university

Batac City—The Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) and the Maejo University (MJU) in Chiang Mai, Thailand have agreed to establish a cooperative relationship in order to foster strong ties in their respective programs so that students and employees who might want to pursue exchange studies might improve their skills and academic performance.

The areas of cooperation are contained in a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the two universities which was signed last month by MMSU President Miriam E. Pascua and MJU President Chamnian Yosraj. Subject to mutual consent includes those programs offered by the two parties which are considered feasible and desirable and are believed to foster development partnership between them.

Cooperation shall be carried out through exchange of students and staff, joint research activities and publications, participation in seminars and academic meetings, exchange of academic materials and other relevant information, and special short-term academic programs that are offered by them.

Like MMSU, MJU is a state university and is one of the higher institutions in Thailand that strives to nurture and develop graduates to become technically competent, besides being culturally and scholarly matured thereby, able to contribute to the future of the country. It is a degree-granting institute that attempts to educate students in practical agriculture, aiming to prepare them for development pursuits.

It is interesting to note that MJU president Yosraj finished his PhD in Animal Science and MS Animal Science from the University of the Philippines at Los Baños, Laguna in 1990.

Ricardo Nolasco Jr., owner of Hannah’s Beach Resort and Convention Center in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte passed away on Wednesday evening, July 11, 2018.
