            This is a verified Petition for the adoption of minors January P. Abad, Jhonard Christian P. Abad and Shaila Janina P. Abad filed by Joseph D. Abad of Brgy. 10-S Barani, Batac City, Ilocos Norte, through counsel, seeking the Court, that after due notice, publication and hearing, judgment be rendered to the effect that thenceforth, the minors JANUARY P. ABAD, JHONARD CHRISTIAN P. ABAD and SHAILA JANINA P. ABAD be freed from all legal obligations of obedience and maintenance with respect to their biological mother and be, to all legal intents and purposes, the children of the petitioner Joseph D. Abad, to be known as JANUARY ABAD, JHONARD CHRISTIAN ABAD and SHAILA JANINA ABAD, pursuant to the provisions of RA 8552 otherwise known as “An Act Establishing the Rules and Policies on the Domestic Adoption of Filipino Children and for Other Purposes” in Relation to A.M. No. 02-6-02-SC.
            The initial hearing is hereby set on June 8, 2015 at 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon, at the Session Hall of this Court, located at the Bulwagan Ng Katarungan, Batac City, and on such date, time and place, all interested parties may appear and may file his/her opposition on the same before such scheduled date of hearing and to show cause why the Petition should not be given due course.
            Let a copy of this Order be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the province of Ilocos Norte once a week for three (3) consecutive weeks at the expense of the petitioner and posted on the Bulletin Board inside the Bulwagan Ng Katarungan, Batac City.
            Let copies of the Petition and this Order be furnished the Court Social Welfare Officer, Regional Trial Court, Office of the Clerk of Court, Batac City, who is directed to conduct the Home and Child Study Report, and the Office of the Solicitor General, Manila.

            A verified petition has been filed by the petitioner thru counsel wherein he prayed that after due notice, publication and hearing, judgment be rendered: ordering the Office of the Local Civil Registrar of Vintar, Ilocos Norte, to rectify and change the middlename initial from R to B and last name/surname from AGACAOILI to AGCAOILI of petitioner and ordering that a copy of the judgment be forwarded to the Civil Registrar General, National Statistics Office, Manila.
            Finding the petition to be sufficient in form and substance, the hearing of the same is hereby set on May 25, 2015 at 8:30 in the morning before this Court sitting at the ground floor of the Marcos Hall of Justice, Laoag City.
The Local Civil Registrar of Vintar, Ilocos Norte, the Civil Registrar General, National Statistics Office, Manila and any person having or claiming any interest under the entry whose correction is sought may, within fifteen (15) days from notice of the publication or from the last date of publication of this order file his opposition thereto.

Pagudpud’s tourism transformer passes away

Ricardo Nolasco Jr., owner of Hannah’s Beach Resort and Convention Center in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte passed away on Wednesday evening, July 11, 2018. He was 67. “He did not survive an open-heart surgery,” said Ronald Dominguez, spokesperson of the largest resort at Brgy. Balaoi in Pagudpud. Known as the architect behind the transformation of Pagudpud town as a premiere destination of the north, Mr. Nolasco put up Hannah’s Beach Resort in what was originally meant as a family vacation resort. The rest is history when it expanded into more than 300-room executive villas and cabanas, with on-going infrastructure developments and set up various amenities.
